God, Samuel, Eli, and Awkward Conversations (1 Samuel 3) - Faith and Other Oddities Episode 74

Chapter three begins with the calling of Samuel as Eli and his household head closer to the consequences of their evil behavior and misrepresentation of Yahweh. Samuel becomes established as the prophet of Yahweh. There is so much in this chapter that we usually miss because we tend to read it through the lens of tradition, rather than what would be the plain understanding of those who lived within the Ancient Near East worldview.
