Samuel Did a Lot of Walking (1 Samuel 7) - Faith and Other Oddities Episode 78
This episode takes up after the Ark of the Covenant was returned to Israel. They must have been smarting from the consequences of their poor judgement and mishandling of the Ark, because they stowed it away at Kiriath-jearim under the care of Eleazar, son of Abinadab. And there it sat. Samuel reappears as Israel finally decides to consult him on how to make things right. It’s in this chapter where Samuel, having been successful at being both judge and prophet, receives the public affirmation of the call the Lord gave him in private. And then they want a king.
