The Gospel of Victory - New Testament Context Tending Our Nets

In this episode, I look more at the context of "gospel" in the 1st century, and how the declaration of the Gospel about Jesus put Him directly in competition with Caesar.

Note - I mentioned Julius Caesar a few times in this episode. I was intending to talk about Caesar Augustus with those comments, as he is the more immediate, contemporary example of emperors seeing themselves as divine, declaring their own "gospel", etc.

Notes

The OnScript podcast hosted R. Alan Streett recently, where they talked about baptism as a loyalty oath - comparing the oath that Roman soldiers would take, with the way the church approached baptism in the 1st-Century. This was a great discussion!
