History's Most Tragic Haircut (Judges 16) - Faith and Other Oddities Episode 60
This week we discuss Samson and Delilah, one the most famous stories in the Bible, and we talk about how love becomes his undoing. We look at how Delilah stands in direct contrast to every other woman in his life in that he doesn’t see her but she sees him, she has a name (an honor not even given to his mother), and even her name indicates that she is the opposite of everything he should desire or want. And we see how his desire for this woman causes him to become the exact opposite of who he was created to be. But before we get there, we talk about his song of praise for himself and not God, how he elevates himself to the level of Moses, and his encounter with the prostitute of Gaza.
