Hide the Idols, Bury Some People, Change Some Names (Genesis 35) - Faith and Other Oddities Episode 27

Jacob is making his way back to Bethel, but first the he must rid his camp of alien gods. Which causes us to ask the question, where did these gods come from? And what does it have to do with that random verse about the death of Rebekah’s nurse, Deborah? We discuss the ties this story has with Deborah, the judge from later times, and her possible significance to the family of Jacob. We also explore how Jacob is the first of the patriarchs fully capable of building a family and a true house of God.
