Preparing for Weirdness: Intro to Judges - Faith and Other Oddities Episode 38

We are kicking off our series in Judges! But before we get started, we pause to look at the resources we will be using in our study. We discuss the concept of a judge in this book as leader and ruler rather than one who issues legal decrees, and why this is sets the stage for the monarchy birthed in the book of Samuel. We also explore the difficulties of this book such dating, authorship, evidence of editing, and purpose in preserving these disturbing stories as part of history of faith.

Scriptures from this episode:

Deuteronomy 17: 8-13
