They Abandoned The LORD and Served the Baals (Judges 2) - Faith and Other Oddities Episode 40

We are in Judges 2 this week, the lens through which the rest of the book must be read. God addresses the failings of chapter one, and he reminds the people (and the reader) that this is a theological conquest not merely a military conquest. In doing so the reader is pointed back to important Biblical accounts such as the the Fall, the Covenant of Sinai, and the battle recorded in Joshua. We remember the death of Joshua, the impact it had on the people, and how he failed to uphold all his duties as leader. The people worship Baals and Ashtaroth and we explore why their worship was evil in the sight of God.
