Some Modern Challenges to Seers' Faith: UFO's, Monism, Magic, Past Lives, and Quantum Mechanics.
The cosmos is more complicated than many Christians suppose. Recently, I was asked about how to reconcile UFOlogy, Monism, Magic, Past Lives, Quantum Mechanics, and other related ideas within a Christian Worldview.
I can relate to the question. More than a dozen years ago, I also went down the rabbit trail of discovering that the cosmos is far more complicated and interesting than I was led to believe by my secular education and Christian upbringing.
Each of these topics deserves in-depth attention, but for now, I'll just point to a high-level overview.
Christian Worldview
I've found one of the best ways to approach the world is through the Kingdom of God Mindset, summarized here: https://seerssee.com/kingdom-of-god-mindset/ but explored in depth in my book, Peace in Your House.
Quantum mechanics
I recommend a Peeranormal series where we interview a Ph.D. in quantum physics, who is also a leader in the Vineyard movement, Putty Putman. Peeranormal is a podcast where we (a panel led by Dr. Michael Heiser) read and discuss peer-reviewed literature on paranormal things.
Quantum physics was a bit over our heads, so we brought in an expert. It's 3 parts. I recommend listening to all three.

Monism/New Age,
Monism is the greatest threat to Christians in the United States and Europe. Many of the social issues confronting Christians in the United States, including transgenderism, the decline of biblical sexual ethics, the paganization of church and State, and even Critical Race Theory, are rooted in Monism.
Monism was a primary concern, actually, in the entire Bible, for paganism and idolatry spring from monism. Paul summarized the issue brilliantly in Romans 1.
The best easy-to-understand summary I've read is by Dr. Peter Jones, The Other Worldview. Check out Peter Jones' summary message here.
I approached some of the issue in this early post, but I do conflate the terms Gnosticism with Monism, and experts in the subject (of which I am not) could point to errors. Nonetheless, the root issues are still relevant.
Past Lives
The concept of reincarnation, that people's souls circulate throughout different bodies over time until they are incorporated to the cosmic consciousness, also stems from Monism, which is a lie.
But if monism is false, how can we account for people who seem to remember past lives?
Actually, science rooted in biblical worldview (meaning, science for the sake of understanding how God made the universe work, not for the sake of politics or social change) gives us the answer: epigenetics and cellular memory.
I first read about these concept while preparing for this Peeranormal episode.
Bottom line, no, people aren't remembering their past lives. Our memories and experiences are encoded in cells throughout the body (not just in the brain). This encoding can be passed on genetically from parent to child, for many generations.
Certain stimuli can trigger the brain's accessing some of these memories, thus causing someone to "remember past lives." Well, while they are accessing stored memories, it's not actually theirs.
There are other explanations for remembering past lives within a Christian framework. Another one I find very plausible is if a demonic influence on a specific area is so strong (for instance, for centuries), the land (or home) can receive a spiritual imprint of the evil - and perhaps the memories of the evil. When an extremely spiritually sensitive person (like a seer) lives there, that person can pick up on those memories, like a radio picking up a distant signal suddenly. I discuss the biblical justification for these ideas in Peace in Your House (hint: start in Leviticus).
These seem the most coherent explanation I've encountered so far.
Magic
Think of magic like a spiritual gift empowered by a demonic spirit. It's like false prophecy (a prophetic word given by a demonic spirit).
For instance, if you pray in Jesus name for someone to get healed, and the Holy Spirit moves and they get healed, you have witnessed a spiritual gift from God in action.
But if you tap into a demon for your power, that's magic. True and pure power comes from God the Father through the Holy Spirit and faith in Jesus. Power from something else... is toxic waste.
UFO's
The news in the US has recently been full of the US government disclosing video and reports into unexplained craft doing unconventional and unexplainable things.
In my opinion, unidentified craft doing unexplained things are actually advanced human-created craft (doing things mainly through manipulating gravity/time with powerful magnets) by the US, Chinese, Russian and probably other nations' militaries.
For instance, if you are in a craft, and can use magnetic forces to slow down time around you, and manipulate how gravity affects your craft, you can make your craft do things that appear, from the outside, to be incredibly fast and with impossible changes in direction, but from the inside of the craft, be slow and quite safe. (Dr. Heiser explores this in his Facade fiction series).
There's a ton of literature (and US Patents) on the technology. The US Patents on the technology held by the US Navy are so out there, that conventional physicists discount the science behind the patents. In the United States, patents related to national security are hidden, so naturally, if the US Navy has "unbelievable" patents describing the kinds of craft and movement shown in UFO footage, what hidden patents do they have?
The Drive does the best investigative reporting on this topic. Click this link or this link for two articles and enjoy the rabbit hole! They have many more!
Naturally, many other UFOs and encounters with "aliens" are powerful spiritual creatures interacting in various ways with the physical world and humans.
Prayer request
Our next Peeranormal episode was to be on the UFO topic. In our previous episode, one panelist, Natalie, was missing because she was at the doctor trying to figure out abdominal pain. The next episode was also cancelled, partly because Nat was again at the doctor's. A week later, she was rushed to the Emergency Room.
A few days later, she passed away from the sudden onset of liver cancer.
At the same time, another panelist, Dr. Michael Heiser, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
So the podcasts are indefinitely postponed. I am asking for prayer for Dr. Heiser.
The Cosmos is Complicated
Here's the thing: the cosmos is much more interesting and complicated than we have generally been led to believe.
There are more players on the field than just God, angels, and demons.
And Jesus is King.
Think of the cosmos like a typical American high school. In high school, there's a principal in charge. But does everything that happens in the school reflect the principal's will?
Nope.
And doesn't the principal continue working with teachers, students, parents, etc., to try and make improvements?
Yep.
Well Jesus is the Principal.
And God is working with his human and spiritual imagers to slowly bring everything under Jesus' subjection.
And we get to cooperate with God in this process, however messy it is.
